Karangalan is a Tagalog word that means, “pride, dignity, and honor”. 

The Karangalan Scholarship, sponsored by the friends and family of the Filipino educators of the South San Diego, will be awarded to outstanding Filipino American senior students in the south San Diego county who have demonstrated excellence in academics and community involvement.
